My final piece is a tableau image that depicts the fairy tale of Little Red Riding Hood. I chose to interpret the Grimm Brother’s version of this fairy tale. The scene that my image depicts is at the end of the story. It is set in the kitchen of Grandma’s house. Little Red Riding Hood are eating the cake and drinking the wine that red riding hood was taking to grandma’s house. The wolf is symbolised by the head of the wolf hanging on the wall and by the knife that little red riding hood holding pointing towards the head of the wolf. The props that are on the table are all significant to the story. The cake and wine are the items little red riding hood was taking to Grandma’s and the basket that she was taking them in, the flowers are there as in the story she is picking flowers which distracts her off her path and leads the wolf to go ahead onto Grandma’s house, the woodcutter’s axe which saves red riding hood and the grandma from the wolf, and the glasses that belong to grandma which the wolf would have also worn when he was disguising himself as the grandma. As I based my image on the Grimm Brother’s version of the tale, I wanted to take a visually dark approach to the piece which I have conveyed with my use of lighting.

Editing photos from final shoot
Final shoot
These are a few shots from my final shoot. I changed several things on this shoot compared to the last one. Firstly I changed the position of the lighting so that it was above the subjects rather than coming from the side. I prefer this lighting as I think it gives a slightly sinister effect to the image. I modified the wolf prop slightly in an attempt to make it look a little more realistic. I think this works to an extent. I also made changes to a few props. I added hot cross buns to the basket of cakes to make this more visually pleasing. I also attempted to make the handle of the axe look wooden. I did this by printing out a wooden texture onto paper and wrapped the paper around the handle of the axe. The flowers are also different as I feel that yellow stands out better than the purple flowers that I had in the previous shoot. I kept The pose of little red riding hood virtually the same. I also changed the red riding hood costume slightly and tied it around my models using the material instead of red thread. I feel that this looks a lot better than before.
